Colin Reid and Karth Sahadevan, two Canadian soldiers with the Loyal Edmonton Regiment, founded Soldiers of Fitness LTD, in 2004. Like so many of the soldiers who had come before them, Karth and Colin spent much of their time overseas thinking about their future. Both men, proud soldiers with a combined 15 years of service in the Canadian Forces, explored many options for their career that would allow them to take advantage of their training beyond its military capacity.
After completing the Alberta Fitness Leadership course, Soldiers of Fitness LTD was born. The training program that developed became drastically unique from other group fitness programs as it was shaped by the personality of its founders. All of the training, attitudes and experiences of Colin and Karth became the cornerstone of Soldiers of Fitness. As the number of satisfied customers rose, graduates of SOF training came to realize that it was not the fitness itself that made SOF so unique, but the opportunity to experience the life of a soldier.
As its popularity grew, Karth and Colin decided to expand SOF to urban centres outside of Edmonton, so that others could experience what so many Edmontonians had already embraced. SOF locations in Calgary, Vancouver and Ottawa took root and have become extremely successful and profitable.
To this day, Soldiers of Fitness is still the only authentic military fitness course available in Canada, owned and operated by Canadian soldiers.

Colin Reid
graduated from
the University of Alberta in 2002 with a degree in politics,
and immediately joined the Canadian Forces Infantry reserve.
Knowing that a regular day job would not satisfy his lust
for adventure, Colin signed up for ROTO 12 in the former
Yugoslavia directly following his graduation from Battle School.
This experience changed Colin forever. While overseas, fitness
became less of a hobby and more of an obsession. Colin is
still currently serving in the Loyal Edmonton Regiment.

Karth Sahadevan
left the University
of Alberta and joined the Forces in 1997. Like many young
men he longed for adventure and challenge, which he soon found
in the Canadian Forces. During his military career he has
successfully completed his parachutist course, and his Senior
Leadership course. Karth has also completed countless endurance
runs and challenges within and outside of the army. To succeed
in these courses and races he trained rigorously. Fitness
started to form the backbone of his day to day activities,
and soon became a part of him. Karth is now entering his 10th
year of military service and holds the rank of Sergeant. He
is currently back in University and is working towards a degree
in Business.
